My name is Garyn Jones.

I’m an aspiring game developer with a strong interest in real-time systems, gameplay programming, and interactive design. My work combines technical problem-solving with creativity, and I’m currently seeking opportunities to begin my career in the games industry.

  • Former club captain (2 years) and vice-captain (2 years) at Neath ASC (Amateur Swimming Club), leading and motivating team members.

  • Qualified swimming instructor, teaching and mentoring students.

  • Experience training and onboarding staff in fast-paced environments: McDonald’s crew trainer and assisting new staff behind the bar in BOHO Cardiff.

  • Strong collaborator and team player, comfortable mentoring, coaching, and supporting others to achieve goals.

Hobbies & Interests:

  • Sim Racing: Passionate about iRacing and Assetto Corsa, especially racing with friends and competing in team endurance events.

  • Guitar: Playing since age 11, mainly rock and metal, with interests in pop, country, and jazz. Regularly perform at open mic nights.

  • Fitness & Swimming: Former competitive swimmer with years of disciplined training; now focused on gym fitness to stay active and balanced.

  • Formula 1: Big F1 fan since watching Drive to Survive. I even visited the Silverstone Racing Museum and managed to rank 42nd on their simulators.

  • Disney: I’m a Disney fanatic, I love going to Disney World Florida and love watching Disney animated films. Favourite character is Pluto.

Awards:

My volunteering with Neath ASC, along with features in Wales Online, Swim Wales, ITV, and several front-page newspaper articles, led to the opportunity to receive the Outstanding Bravery Award – Gwobr Dewrder Eithriadol (2023). This is one of my proudest achievements and something I’m truly grateful for.

I’ve been fortunate to work with the British Heart Foundation and Swim Wales to promote the benefits of swimming for people with heart conditions. My efforts have been featured in Wales Online and Swim Wales, and I’ve also shared my experiences on ITV and S4C.
